Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a Senior EHS Specialist for its Westinghouse Parts Business, based at New Stanton, PA. You will work with the Principal EHS Engineer and EHS Supervisor to develop policies, mitigate hazards, investigate incidents, and liaise with regulators to prevent recurrence. You will report to the Sr.

Manager, Quality, and be onsite five days a week. The role emphasizes training, audits, and compliance with national and company standards, including SCWE and Nuclear Safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years in industrial environments.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Human Performance tools and concepts.
• Familiarity with EHS management systems, risk management, audits/assessments, training, and accident prevention.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs/policies/processes.
• Monitor safety metrics, including leading indicators, to anticipate future safety performance.
• Provide innovative means to address EHS risks and prevention mechanisms.
• Maintain and improve compliance for EHS audits and regulatory inspections.
• Ensure completion of corrective actions.
• Promote a safety-conscious work environment aligned with Westinghouse Safety Culture.
• Develop and provide training and education programs.
• Implement the Westinghouse EHS Management Systems and Code of Practice.
• May coach and review the work of other personnel.
• Manage projects or processes as needed.

About the role:

As Senior EHS Specialist with the Westinghouse Parts Business (WPB), you will work with the Principal EHS Engineer and EHS Supervisor to develop and implement policies and practices to identify and mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace and external environments. This will include investigating accidents and environmental incidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence. Additionally, you will provide advice and training on safety protocols and conduct audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to environmental health and safety.

You will report to the Sr. Manager, Quality, and will be based out of our New Stanton, PA location. This is an anchor position that is required on site 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement of environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs/policies/processes.

• Maintain and improve compliance by adequately preparing for EHS audits and regulatory inspections.

• Develop and provide training and education programs.
• Implement the Westinghouse EHS Management Systems and Code of Practice.
• May coach and review the work of other personnel.
• Responsibilities may include managing projects / processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in industrial environments.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or equivalent
• Working knowledge of Human Performance tools and concepts.
• Familiarity with EHS management systems, risk management processes, audit/assessment, training, accident prevention.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $76,400 to $95,500 per year.
