Job summary

Johnson Controls in Largo, FL is seeking a Plant EHS Manager to lead environmental, health and safety programs in a manufacturing setting. You will drive compliance with OSHA, ISO14001/ISO45001, and PSM, while advancing a proactive safety culture and Zero Harm initiatives.

Responsibilities include regulatory reporting, waste management, training development, and cross-functional collaboration with facilities and operations to ensure safe, compliant and efficient plant performance.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5–7 years suggested minimum experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with high hazard controls in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience developing and driving a safety culture improvement plan, implementing key safety initiatives focusing on injury prevention and behavior-based safety.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, compliance reporting requirements and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Experience With PSM Regulatory Requirements (e.g., OSHA, PSM, EPA)
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage environmental, health and safety programs to support plant goals.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements and JCI safety systems.
• Support ISO14001 and ISO45001 implementations and audits.
• Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs including handling, packaging, labeling, storage and disposal.
• Develop and deliver site-specific training materials and safety programs.
• Coordinate audits for air emission, wastewater, storm water, and waste; report findings and corrective actions.
• Lead Process Safety Management initiatives to enhance operational safety.
• Engage workforce to drive culture change toward Zero Harm and safe work practices.
• Collaborate with facilities to ensure FM Global and other risk assessments are current.
• Liaise with safety committee and union leadership to share best practices.
