Job summary

Central Contractors Service, Inc. in Alsip, IL is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager with experience in the construction or heavy industry environment. The emphasis will be in the area of commercial construction, petrochemical, steel, wind farm, and heavy industry environments.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently on multiple matters in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time, exempt position with comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or 2 years of related safety management experience in construction or heavy industry.
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.
• Experience in accident investigation.
• Computer literate with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
• Knowledge of crane and rigging codes and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of crane and rigging codes, standards, and regulations.
• Ensure environmental, health, and safety compliance at branches and sites.
• Follow corporate policies to ensure EH&S compliance.
• Conduct regular and random safety inspections of sites and facilities.
• Review injury/accident reports and implement corrective actions.
• Develop site-specific Job Hazard Analyses (JHA).
• Lead regular safety meetings with management and employees.
• Implement EH&S policies and communications.
• Maintain DOT compliance and driver files.
