Job summary

Croda, Atlas Point site in New Castle, Delaware, seeks an experienced EHS leader to direct safety, health, and environmental programs for a critical manufacturing site. You will provide strategic direction, regulatory oversight, and technical leadership across environmental, safety, and process-safety activities.

The role emphasizes regulatory excellence, a strong safety culture, and embedding EHS principles into operational decisions, with responsibility for the site PSM program and contractor

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years leading Environmental and Safety programs within chemical manufacturing or another complex industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DNREC, Responsible Care, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and related regulatory frameworks.
• Experience with site emergency-preparedness and response programs, drills, incident command, mutual-aid coordination, and response-team readiness.
• Demonstrated success interacting with regulators, auditors, local responders, and external stakeholders.
• Experience leading EHS teams and building organizational capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the SHE team through objectives, performance management, training, development, and succession planning.
• Integrate EHS requirements into capital planning, operational improvements, and site-transformation initiatives.
• Influence leaders and employees to achieve high standards of EHS performance.
• Proactively identify regulatory risks and implement sustainable compliance solutions.
