Riggs Distler & Company, Inc. seeks an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator III to lead safety initiatives for Underground Electric Utility Infrastructure projects in the Tampa area.

You will plan, research, and manage EHS initiatives to create a safe work environment and ensure regulatory compliance. Required: Bachelor’s in Construction Management or EHS, 7+ years in EHS within civil construction or utilities, and certifications such as OSHA CHST/CUSP.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the pre-job planning process, supporting project teams and EHS Managers in the development of project-specific Environmental, Health and Safety Plans to ensure a safe work environment.
• Facilitates orientations for regional offices, field personnel and union employees to ensure quick acclimation to the company.
• Analyzes EHS audit data and develops action plans to ensure compliance with safe work standards.
• Investigates significant issues from EHS investigations and initiates corrective actions to minimize risk.
• Leads regular EHS training sessions for regional employees to ensure compliance and safety.
• Mentors and develops team members to improve overall competency and performance.
• Evaluates EHS equipment distribution processes and recommends improvements to protect safety.
• Performs regulatory research and implements EHS protocols to minimize risk.
• Reviews DOT testing results and ensures corrective actions comply with regulations.
• Presents status updates at client meetings on EHS initiatives and compliance.
