Job summary

Carvana is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join the EHS team and support our mission of strong health, safety, and environmental compliance across the organization. You will help manage programs, guide corrective actions, and report information to regulators while optimizing EHS initiatives.

The role requires strong problem solving and collaboration, a Bachelor’s degree, 3+ years of EHS experience, and the ability to interface with regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of relevant EHS experience.
• Valid driver’s license for select sites.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with indoor air quality and asbestos (NIOSH 582).
• Customer service mentality and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and management of EHS information systems for recordkeeping.
• Support regulatory compliance across sites and permits.
• Collaborate with outside consultants as needed.
• Monitor programs to track compliance and effectiveness.
• Lead Safety Action Teams across locations.
• Interface with OSHA and regulators on the company’s behalf.
• Review development plans for permitting concerns.
• Lead environmental due diligence as needed.
• Drive may be required for select locations.
