Job Description: Senior EHR Clinical Apps Analyst (Epic OpTime/Anesthesia) Partial Remote - ITS-Clin Security (2501574)

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent and three years related experience. Must possess sufficient educational background and/or experience to conduct clinical applications analysis and/or programming of intermediate to complex systems, analysis of clinical workflows, and system adoption strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Epic certification in OpTime and Anesthesia – highly desirable; will consider Nursing experience in an Operating Room in lieu of certification.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, optimization, maintenance, and support of intermediate to highly complex clinical systems in compliance with all applicable regulations and organizational policies. Clinical applications include any software application used in support of the clinical enterprise including patient registration, patient billing, clinical documentation utilized in the ambulatory and inpatient settings, as well as applications for specific medical specialties such as, but not limited to, Radiology, Pathology, Oncology, Transplant, and Cardiology. Other responsibilities include providing intermediate analysis and documentation, formulating logical statements of business and management problems to develop requirements for configuration of clinical applications, and providing solutions to intermediate to complex problems utilizing more efficient operational procedures, workflows, and information technology solutions. This role also requires an understanding of the assigned system applications, functions, and features end-users would experience.

Job Duties:

This position is responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, optimization, maintenance, and support of intermediate to highly complex clinical systems in compliance with all applicable regulations and organizational policies. Other responsibilities include providing intermediate analysis and documentation, formulating logical statements of business and management problems to develop requirements for configuration of clinical applications, and providing solutions to intermediate to complex problems utilizing more efficient operational procedures, workflows, and information technology solutions.

This employee will be an analyst on the Epic Security and Provider Management Team.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • User Account Management: Creating, updating, and deactivating user accounts, ensuring proper access levels based on roles and responsibilities.
  • Security Configuration: Designing and maintaining security classes, templates, and role-based access controls to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Auditing and Monitoring: Conducting regular audits of user access and security configurations to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
  • Workflow Analysis: Collaborating with teams to analyze workflows and implement security solutions that align with operational needs.
  • Training and Support: Providing guidance and training to users and teams on security protocols and best practices.
  • System Maintenance: Testing and updating security settings during system upgrades or changes to maintain integrity and functionality.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and to work individually or as a member of a team.

Salary Range:

Actual salary commensurate with experience.

Work Schedule:

Partial Remote (must be Greater Houston Area based), onsite as needed. Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, and as needed on occasion.
