Job summary

STI-TEC, a provider of government and commercial information management services, seeks an Editor to support the Joint Staff’s senior leadership. The role includes editing, preparing directives and memorandums, and ensuring strict DoD formatting and style.

The Editor will analyze documents with subject matter experts, produce polished packages, and coordinate review with action officers and MILSECs for senior leadership approval. A Top-Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in English/Communications or related field with 7 years communications support experience OR 11 years experience
• Experience writing, editing and revising documents for U.S. Government senior leaders including the President, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Defense, NSC, HSC and Congress
• Excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, and attention to detail with consistency across products
• Expert use of software to prepare correspondence; mastery of Adobe Acrobat and Word; familiarity with ETMS2/TMT

Responsibilities

• Provide editorial support for the Joint Staff senior leadership including CJCS, VCJCS, DJS, VDJS and SEAC
• Develop Joint Staff correspondence: issuances, letters, memorandums
• Edit executive Joint Staff documents to conformance with DoD and Joint Staff rules
• Analyze document packages with SMEs and revise as needed
• Prepare complete document packages meeting Joint Staff style, organization, and distribution
• Receive and review JS issuances and publications and edit for review by AD leadership
