Job summary

AACN in California seeks a Managing Editor to lead end-to-end editorial production for our print and digital journals. You will collaborate with Editors in Chief, authors, and publishing teams to ensure high quality, timely content and adherence to AMA style.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, 7+ years in senior editing roles, strong project management, and proficiency with InDesign and other publishing tools. We offer comprehensive benefits and flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years’ experience as managing editor of STM journals or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Leads end-to-end editorial production for print and digital publications.
• Upholds editorial and medical publishing standards.
• Collaborates with Editors in Chief, contributors, and publishing team.
• Manages preproduction, production, and postproduction workflows.
• Leads analysis to improve relevance of AACN’s publications.
