PLOS is hiring a Publication Ethics Senior Editor for a 12-month FTC, fully remote role. The candidate will investigate and resolve publication ethics cases across PLOS journals, support editorial teams, and contribute to ethics initiatives.

The position supports both US- and UK-based applicants and involves collaboration with a remote team. Ideal candidates have advanced degrees in science and substantial STM publishing ethics experience, with strong communication, organizational, and policy

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline.
• Experience in an editorial or publication ethics role in STM publishing.
• First-hand experience resolving publication ethics cases in STM publishing.

Responsibilities

• Resolve publication ethics cases efficiently in line with PLOS standards and COPE guidance.
• Provide timely publication ethics support to journal teams and editors during manuscript handling, peer review, or post-publication.
• Contribute to team- and cross-functional initiatives on ethics, integrity, and policy development.
