Mansueto Ventures seeks a Senior Editor, Marketing to lead Inc.com’s marketing coverage from New York. The role blends editorial excellence with audience growth, guiding staff writers and freelancers and shaping coverage across advertising, branding and consumer trends.

Hybrid role with in-office Tuesdays–Thursdays at our NYC office. A strong background in analytics, SEO, and live events is essential for driving impact at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of digital editorial experience, preferably in business/marketing/trends.
• Proven skill in managing staff writers and freelancers.
• Demonstrated success growing digital audiences via editing, analytics, and SEO.
• Excellent news judgment and ability to frame stories for audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own the editorial and audience-growth strategy for Inc.com’s Marketing section.
• Lead coverage of advertising, branding, customer acquisition, social media, consumer behavior, and marketing tech.
• Assign and edit daily news, analysis, service journalism, and enterprise work.

Job description

Inc. is looking for an ambitious, metrics-driven editor to lead and grow the Marketing section on Inc.com. The Senior Editor, Marketing will manage staff writers and oversee columnists and freelancers, producing a mix of timely news, analysis, service journalism, and feature content. The ideal candidate combines sharp editorial judgment with a deep understanding of the strategies and trends shaping modern marketing.

This is a hybrid role and will require weekly in-office presence on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at our corporate office at 7 World Trade Center, New York, NY.

This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America East Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Salary range: $89,000 - $110,000 + bonus eligible. Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, industry, and education.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Own the editorial and audience-growth strategy for Inc.com’s Marketing section.

• Assign and edit daily news, analysis, service journalism, and enterprise work.
• Manage and develop staff writers through regular coaching, feedback, and beat development.
• Recruit and develop columnists and freelance contributors with expertise, distinctive voices, and audience potential.
• Use performance data to improve story selection, framing, headlines, and distribution.
• Support live event programming and onstage conversations.
• Collaborate with audience, social, video, podcast, and events teams.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 5+ years of digital editorial experience, preferably covering business, marketing, or consumer trends.
• Proven skill managing and developing staff writers and freelance contributors.
• Demonstrated success growing digital audiences through strong editing, analytics, and SEO.
• Excellent news judgment and skill with story framing, headlines, and service journalism.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Experience moderating live events or onstage conversations.
• Genuine enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and the changing marketing landscape.
