Senior eDiscovery Technician

Employment Type: Full Time, Mid-Level

Department: Legal

CGS is seeking a Senior eDiscovery Technician to join our team supporting the legal organization within a large Federal agency.

Skills and Attributes for Success:
  1. Log the production in the Agency's eDiscovery Tracking System.
  2. Digest the cover letter (which may be several pages long) and provide a brief description of the production.
  3. If the media received is encrypted and no password is provided, call the producing party to obtain the password.
  4. Determine if the cover letter contains substantive information that qualifies it for loading into Relativity.
  5. Virus scan the production off-network, using multiple virus protection software and other tools.
  6. If issues are detected, follow protocol to address the issue or reject the production.
  7. Once the production is virus-free, copy it to the Agency's network.
  8. Follow specific protocols when handling various document types, such as whistleblower, RFPA, MOU, international, BSA, audio files, transcripts, laptops, or paper.
  9. Analyze productions to determine processing requirements and protocols.
  10. Ensure data completeness and inspect load-ready data for components.
  11. Monitor for incoming productions via email and FTP.
  12. Scan and OCR small amounts of paper documents for Relativity loading; coordinate off-site scanning for large document sets.
Qualifications:
  • At least three years of eDiscovery technical experience supporting project requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; additional relevant work experience may substitute.
  • Knowledge of information resources.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks as outlined above.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with government software policies and procedures.
  • Client-facing communication experience.
  • Federal security clearance.
