Job summary
NIRA, Inc is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support a U.S. Department of Justice digital evidence management and eDiscovery program serving U.S. Attorneys' Offices nationwide.
The analyst will bridge legal-operations stakeholders and the technical delivery team—eliciting requirements, mapping workflows, and identifying automation opportunities across evidence intake, review, and production. Qualifications
- 8 years of business analysis experience, including at least 2 years supporting eDiscovery or legal technology.
- Hands-on experience with eDiscovery platforms (Relativity, Everlaw).
- Ability to map processes, improve workflows, and quantify efficiency gains.
- Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and process docs in Agile environments.
- Strong facilitation and cross-functional communication across legal and technical teams.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DOJ background investigation.
- Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or related field.
Responsibilities
- Elicit, document, and validate requirements from attorneys and staff; translate into user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Map current and design future-state evidence-handling and eDiscovery workflows.
- Identify automation opportunities; collaborate with engineers to implement workflow automation.
- Define integration requirements between evidence platform and review tools, case management, and ITSM.
- Develop SOPs and training materials; support user acceptance testing and defect triage.
- Analyze adoption telemetry and metrics for continuous improvement.
- Support sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, status reporting, and risk tracking.
