Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a detail-oriented EDI Implementation Specialist to support onboarding and integration of trading partners. You will coordinate system setup, testing, and production readiness while aligning with healthcare data standards.

You will gather business requirements, validate mappings to database fields, and create end-to-end test cases across test and production environments. Excellent communication and problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of knowledge of EDI transactions including testing standard X12 transactions (837P, 837I, 837 Outgoing, 999, TA1, U277)
• 2+ years using crosswalks, HIPAA implementation guides, and requirements documents to validate data mappings
• 2+ years of privacy rules and HIPAA compliance
• 2+ years of client-facing experience resolving issues and engaging with clients on EDI-related testing and root-cause analysis
• Ability to present ideas in business-friendly language and work both independently and in a team

Responsibilities

Position Summary

• Support the onboarding and implementation of EDI partners by coordinating system setup, configuration, testing, and production readiness activities.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to gather business requirements, document implementation needs, and support solutions that meet operational and client expectations.
• Develop and execute test cases to validate system functionality, confirm requirements are met, and ensure accurate end-to-end processing across test and production environments.
• Review and interpret technical specifications, healthcare EDI formats, and related documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business needs.
• Educate and support clients through implementation activities, including production preparation and changes to communication protocols, file formats, or software.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of comprehensive knowledge of EDI transactions, including testing standard X12 transactions such as 837P, 837I, 837 Outgoing, 999, TA1, and U277.
• 2+ years of experience using crosswalks, HIPAA implementation guides, and requirements documents to validate that data has been mapped to the correct database fields.
• 2+ years of understanding of privacy rules and HIPAA compliance
• 2+ years of experience working with clients on issue resolution and problem‑solving discussions.
• 2+ years of experience in a client‑facing environment partnering directly with clients on EDI‑related issue resolution, testing activities, root‑cause analysis, and problem‑solving discussions.
• Ability to present ideas in business‑friendly and user‑friendly language
• Highly motivated and self‑directed.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a high‑pressure environment.
• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in healthcare preferred.

Education

• Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is: $46,988.00 - $112,200.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
