Job summary

Gather AI in Pittsburgh is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Edge Systems to own the software layer between drone and swapper hardware and the rest of the stack. This hands-on role focuses on shortening the feedback loop between software changes and real hardware.

You will work across the full robotics software stack, from mobile apps to diagnostics, OTA updates, and cloud synchronization, and you’ll reproduce issues on hardware to fix them quickly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production software experience in multi-component systems.
• Mobile app development experience in Swift (iOS) or Kotlin (Android).
• Strong debugging across hardware, mobile, cloud and robotics layers.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve the drone and swapper software stack end-to-end.
• Investigate production issues requiring direct hardware access.
• Build logging and diagnostics across mobile, cloud, and robotics layers.
• Collaborate daily with Mobile, Autonomy, Backend, and QA teams.
• Contribute to long-term architecture of a unified software platform.
