Job summary

Armada is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Edge organization in Bellevue, Washington. You will architect and develop core services powering the Armada Edge Platform, unifying a hybrid fleet of Azure Local, OpenShift, and Kubernetes clusters while building automation for provisioning and managing the physical network fabric.

In this role you will design and implement software in Golang and Python for zero-touch provisioning, implement security components for identity bootstrapping

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional development experience focused on backend systems, distributed architecture, platform engineering, or network automation.
• Expert-level Golang proficiency (5+ years preferred) with experience building system daemons, control planes, or high‑performance API services.
• Proven experience provisioning and managing network devices (e.g., Juniper SRX) via programmatic interfaces like Netconf, RESTconf, or gRPC.
• Technical familiarity with Kubernetes, Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI), or OpenShift architectures.
• Deep Linux systems programming experience, including networking stacks and bare‑metal troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of Docker, OCI runtimes, and L2/L3 networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, IPSec).
• Security‑as‑Code experience with PKI, mTLS, SPIFFE/SPIRE to enforce network and node security policies.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop unified edge orchestration services for deploying to Azure Local, OpenShift, and Kubernetes clusters.
• Build custom Controllers, Operators, and orchestration logic to integrate Armada Edge Platform with Azure Arc and OpenShift APIs.
• Engineer Zero‑Touch Provisioning workflows for bare‑metal compute nodes from bootstrap to production status.
• Integrate hardware telemetry into the control plane for health monitoring including power and thermal metrics.
• Design and implement automation for provisioning and lifecycle management of network devices (e.g., Juniper SRX) using Netconf/RESTconf/gRPC.
• Develop tooling to audit device state against intent‑based configurations to ensure security and compliance.
• Implement identity bootstrapping, secure attestation, and real‑time remediation for Zero Trust across Linux and Azure Local nodes.
