Job summary

webAI is looking for Senior and Staff Engineers to build secure, distributed AI infrastructure spanning edge devices to cloud-isolated environments. You will shape synchronization and networking for high performance while preserving data privacy and resilience.

Responsibilities include designing data synchronization frameworks and leading performance tuning under constrained connectivity; collaborating with security and MLOps teams; and advancing CRDTs, content-addressable storage, and erasure

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with backend systems languages (C++, C, Go, Rust).
• Experience with peer-to-peer or decentralized networking frameworks.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced synchronization and networking systems for AI across edge to cloud environments.
• Architect robust data synchronization using content-addressable storage, Merkle trees, CRDTs, and erasure coding.
• Lead performance tuning, debugging, and optimization under intermittent connectivity.
• Ensure security-first design through threat modeling, secure key management, and cryptographic integration.
• Collaborate with MLOps, Infrastructure, and Security to deploy AI components in restricted or air-gapped systems.
• Contribute to cross-functional architectural design discussions and documentation.
• Maintain rigorous testing, observability, and validation to ensure reliability and compliance.
• Note: Development will be in Rust; up to speed on Rust during work.
