Windfall is seeking a Senior Economist to own core research products and serve as the economic authority behind its publications. The role spans labor, development, and welfare policy with a focus on quantitative modeling and cross-country analysis.

You will drive methodological design, data choices, and external reviews, collaborating with leadership and partners to engage treasuries, central banks, and international bodies.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in economics or closely related field; 8+ years of applied economic research or policy analysis.
• Experience in labor economics, development economics, or public finance with strong analytical methods.
• Ability to publish and defend methodologies under external scrutiny.
• Experience presenting to senior policy audiences and international institutions.

Responsibilities

• Own the methodology and delivery of Windfall's flagship research products.
• Design and defend cross-country index methodology and indicators.
• Translate AI scenario narratives into quantified economic parameters.
• Analyze labor market resilience and how economies absorb technology shocks.
• Assess fiscal and welfare system resilience across countries with varying income levels.
• Develop policy-relevant scenarios and publish Windfall's research externally.
• Set standards for rigor, reproducibility, and documentation of quantitative work.
