Job summary

CommerceMate is seeking an Ecommerce Growth Engineer in a fully remote role. The position focuses on Shopify Plus store development, subscription strategy implementation, data ownership, and conversion optimization.

You will build and maintain stores, implement bundle logic, run A/B tests, and read metrics to guide next moves. Strong English communication and expertise in analytics are essential for direct client work.

Qualifications

• Experience with Shopify Plus and Liquid-based themes.
• Experience with subscription platforms and bundle logic.
• Ability to read data from GA4 and Shopify reports.
• Experience with A/B testing and analytics workflows.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Shopify Plus stores with Online Store 2.0 themes.
• Develop and optimize subscription strategies and UX flows.
• Own data reporting using GA4 and Shopify reports; interpret metrics.
• Set up and run A/B tests with Intelligems or equivalents.
• Ensure post-launch quality and document bugs and reviews.

Job description

Ecommerce Growth Engineer is a hybrid role: the combination of Shopify development, subscription strategy, data ownership, and conversion optimization.

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining Shopify Plus stores: themes (Liquid, Online Store 2.0), custom sections, app integrations, performance with Claude Code and Figma MCP.
• Implementing and improving subscription strategies: selling plans, bundle logic, switcher UX, retention flows.
• Read, interpret, and own data. Shopify reports, GA4, A/B tests analytics. Reading and reporting on store metrics and recommending the next move.
• Setting up and running A/B tests (Intelligems or equivalent), maintaining control/test parity, interpreting results.
• Owning post-launch quality: pre-launch checklists, end-to-end merchant and customer walkthroughs, bug logging.

Skills required

• Fluent in the Shopify ecosystem and apps, with in-depth understanding of subscriptions: Recharge, Skio, Stay.AI, or Shopify.
• Fluent in analytics: Shopify reports, GA4 basics, conversion funnels, cohorts.
• AI-native workflow: Claude Code, MCP integrations (Figma + Notion is a minimum).
• Great communication skills: spoken and written English. We are direct-to-client.
