Job summary

Vanderbilt Health in Nashville is seeking a skilled echocardiography technologist to acquire echocardiographic data with the patient at rest under the supervision and/or direction of a physician, including morphologic imaging, myocardial function assessment, and hemodynamic parameter recording.

The role includes independent stress echocardiographic testing and potential contrast imaging under a cardiologist's direction.

Qualifications

• Certifications: LIC-Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer - Licensure-Others
• Work Experience: Relevant Work Experience Experience Level : 7 years
• Education: Graduate of an approved discipline specific program

Responsibilities

• Reviews Echocardiology exam requests and patient identification to ensure safe, appropriate and cost‑effective imaging.
• Applies broad range of skills to ensure exam is completed timely and meets quality and compliance standards.
• Performs echocardiography for patients with congenital heart problems standards.
• Demonstrates skill in acquiring clear images on clinically complex patients.
• May be designated as an interim shift lead in the absence of the Supervisor.
• Assists in the orientation and training of new staff.
