Job summary

Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is seeking an experienced RDMS/RDCS certified sonographer for its busy Echocardiography department in New York. The role includes performing adult and pediatric echocardiograms, EKGs, and assisting with TEE, while ensuring infection control and proper documentation.

The candidate will organize daily lab activities, maintain census data, train new staff, and coordinate with cardiology leadership to improve patient care.

Qualifications

• RDMS and RDCS certification required.
• Experience in adult and pediatric echocardiography settings.
• Minimum 1 year of related job experience; high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Explain to patients the need to expose chest/limbs as required.
• Organize daily Non-Invasive Cardiology lab activities (Echo, EKG, Stress, Nuclear, Holter).
• Maintain lab census and organize workloads; set priorities.
• Perform adult and pediatric Echocardiograms, EKGs; assist with TEE procedures.
• Monitor equipment; report malfunctions to supervisor.
• Verify patient identity prior to procedures and document tests.
• Train new Echo staff and manage inventory; remove expired supplies.
• Prepare, print, and file test reports; communicate results to Cardiologist.
