The University of Iowa Health Care—Heart and Vascular Center seeks a full-time Senior Sonographer to perform advanced ultrasound procedures with independent judgment. Qualifications include 3–5 years in diagnostic medical or vascular sonography, ARDMS/BLS, and ongoing professional certification.

Qualifikationen

• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited diagnostic medical sonography program or equivalent.
• Two-year health science program plus twelve-month formal education in sonography, or Bachelor's plus twelve-month program in Cardiac Ultrasonography.
• ARDMS registration or other credentialing within nine months; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Aufgaben

• Review patient history and determine exam appropriateness; modify exam protocol as needed.
• Perform complex diagnostic ultrasonography across specialties with additional certification.
• Provide preliminary interpretation and data to support final diagnostic report.
• Guide other sonographers for complex procedures and lead by example.
• Independently perform advanced sonography tasks or interventional procedures as delegated by physicians.
• Act as a clinical technical lead in accordance with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise, educate, and provide feedback to students, residents, and fellows.
• Coordinate scheduling of procedures and requisition/inventory supplies for imaging areas.
• Develop scanning protocols and QA processes; participate in continuing education and training.
