Job summary

The Learning Experience in Grand Rapids, MI seeks experienced early childhood leaders for Assistant Center Director or Center Director roles, building a pool for current and future openings.

We offer a pay range of $48,000–$75,000 annually, full-time Monday–Friday, plus benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) with match, PTO, training, and discounts.

Qualifications

• Experience in licensed childcare or early childhood education required.
• Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Center Director or Assistant Director experience is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and team leadership skills.
• Knowledge of licensing requirements and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Support or oversee daily childcare center operations.
• Lead, coach, and develop teaching teams.
• Recruit, onboard, and retain educators.
• Maintain staffing, classroom ratios, and schedules.
• Support curriculum implementation (L.E.A.P.).
• Ensure licensing, health, safety, and compliance standards.
• Build relationships with children and families.
• Support tours, enrollment, retention, and center growth.
• Manage documentation and operational processes.
• Partner with center and regional leadership.
• Create a positive, professional center culture.

Responsibilities May Include

Qualifications

• Previous professional experience in a licensed childcare, preschool, or early childhood education setting required
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience strongly preferred
• Center Director or Assistant Director experience is a plus
• Strong communication, organization, and team leadership skills
• Knowledge of childcare licensing and early childhood best practices
• CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or related credentials preferred
• Must meet applicable Michigan licensing requirements for the leadership position being considered
