Job summary

The Learning Experience - Byron Center is seeking experienced early childhood professionals for leadership opportunities in the Grand Rapids area. We are building our leadership candidate pool for current and future roles such as Assistant Center Director or Center Director.

Qualifications

• Experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting is required
• Leadership, supervisory, or management experience is strongly preferred
• Center Director or Assistant Director experience is a plus
• Strong communication, organization, and team leadership skills
• Knowledge of Michigan licensing requirements for leadership positions is needed

Responsibilities

• Supporting or overseeing daily childcare center operations
• Leading, coaching, developing, and supporting teaching teams
• Recruiting, onboarding, and retaining high-quality educators
• Maintaining staffing, classroom ratios, and scheduling
• Supporting implementation of The Learning Experience's LEAP Curriculum
• Maintaining Michigan licensing, health, safety, and compliance standards
• Building strong relationships with children and families
• Supporting family tours, enrollment, retention, and center growth
• Managing required documentation and operational processes
• Partnering with center and regional leadership
• Creating a positive, professional, and accountable center culture

Qualifications

• Previous professional experience in a licensed childcare, preschool, or early childhood education setting required
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience strongly preferred
• Center Director or Assistant Director experience is a plus
• Strong communication, organization, and team leadership skills
• Knowledge of childcare licensing and early childhood best practices
• CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or related credentials preferred
• Must meet applicable Michigan licensing requirements for the leadership position being considered
