Job summary

Baylor University in Waco, TX seeks a Senior Early Childhood Educator to work on-site at The Piper Center for Family Studies and Child Development with infants, toddlers and preschoolers. The role supports the Piper Center’s mission through developmentally appropriate, play-centered learning and collaboration with Baylor staff, faculty and students.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree and at least three years of relevant experience; a Master’s degree and five years are preferred.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least three years of experience.
• A Master's degree with five years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Active Christian faith and ability to partner with a co-teacher.
• Experience with diverse groups, including children with special needs.
• Ability to plan and implement developmentally appropriate curricula.
• Willingness to support Baylor's mission and abide by university policies.

Responsibilities

• Create, write, and implement developmentally appropriate curricula.
• Lead inquiry-based, play-centered classroom curriculum.
• Plan and conduct developmental screenings and assessments.
• Observe groups of children daily and report to families.
• Collaborate with Piper Center educators and Baylor staff.
• Maintain professional development of 30 hours annually.
• Work On-Site or Remotely as assigned by supervisor.
