Job summary

Tate & Lyle in San Diego, CA is seeking an experienced E&I Maintenance Technician to inspect and calibrate process instrumentation, troubleshoot electrical equipment, and support repairs and replacement of equipment.

The role requires at least 7 years in manufacturing or engineering, hands-on PLCs and instrument knowledge, and ability to read schematics and P&ID diagrams; a high school diploma or GED and a CA driver's license are required.

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years in manufacturing or engineering.
Experience troubleshooting PLCs, field instrumentation, control loops, and transmitters.
Working knowledge of regulatory and industry standards of electrical equipment.
Ability to read electrical schematic drawings, instrument loop diagrams and P&ID’s.
Valid CA driver’s license.
High school diploma/GED required.

Responsibilities

Carry out routine preventative maintenance calibrations and inspections to insure minimal disruption to the production process.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment throughout the site.
Sets up, replace, and install process instrumentation with minimal supervision.
Provide insight and feedback from assigned work.
Complete equipment history information files to document technical issues.
Document mechanical or electrical problems that may disrupt the production process.
Communicate with process operators and productions shift supervisors on equipment status.
Utilize time to keep up routine cleaning of your work area consistent with the company’s cGMP Policy.
Demonstrate effective teamwork behavior, promotion of process efficiency, and effectively communicate safety and procedural issues with coworkers and supervisor.
