Job summary

Pelican Energy Consultants, LLC seeks an experienced Designer to perform design work under a Drafting Manager. You will generate detailed drawings across assigned disciplines and delegate work to drafters on projects.

The role requires a strong working knowledge of design components, proficiency in AutoCAD and CADWorx 3D modeling, and the ability to manage multiple high-paced assignments while coordinating with engineers, designers, vendors, and management. Travel occasionally may be required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years related drafting/design experience.
• Associates degree or equivalent in drafting and design required.
• Familiarity with industry standards and engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform design duties using company standards and engineering practices.
• Create 3D CAD models using AutoCAD and CADWorx for assigned projects.
• Produce scaled and non-scaled drawings and manage documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, vendors, and management.
• Travel occasionally to gather field data as required.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Perform design duties utilizing company standards and engineering practices.
• Computer Aided 3D Modeling on assigned projects utilizing AutoCAD.
• Capably of generating different types of "scaled" and "non-scaled" drawings.
• Printing, plotting & filing of drawings.
• Occasionally travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments to gather field data.
• Complete high paced assignments through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and executions of assigned work.
• Communicate effectively with a wide diversity of personnel with varying technical backgrounds including engineers, designers, vendors, and management.

Computer

Skills

Operational knowledge of AutoCAD and CADWorx 3D Modeling software. Minimum 1 year experience utilizing Aeries CARS Cable and Raceway Systems database. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel & Microsoft Office Outlook in a Microsoft Windows environment.
