Job summary

Fairwinds Technologies, LLC seeks a Senior DSP Engineer with deep RF signal processing expertise to design, implement, and optimize DSP solutions on Xilinx RFSoC/Versal platforms. You will work across RF, FPGA/embedded, and software teams to deliver field-ready DSP capabilities for defense and civilian applications.

A Master’s or PhD and 15+ years of experience are required; travel and a security clearance are anticipated. This role supports remote work within the DMV and Florida regions.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years of DSP engineering experience in RF signal processing.
• Experience on embedded/real-time systems and hardware-accelerated platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize DSP algorithms for RF signals in dynamic environments.
• Lead algorithm development from concept to prototype and implementation.
• Implement and validate DSP on Xilinx RFSoC, UltraScale+ and Versal.
• Collaborate with FPGA engineers to translate algorithms into hardware.
• Work with embedded software teams to integrate real-time DSP pipelines.
• Develop test strategies and characterize performance under impairments.
• Create MATLAB/Python tools and documentation; support SAR and SBIR work.
• Provide technical leadership and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders.
• Support integration, debugging, and field testing across DSP/RF/FPGA.
