Job summary

Rivian is hiring a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer – Drive Unit (Stator/Rotor) for the Normal, IL facility, with involvement in Atlanta, GA and Plymouth, MI. You will design, implement rotor manufacturing processes and lead the build of new line infrastructure to scale production.

The role requires collaboration across ME, Product Development and supplier teams, with a focus on manufacturability, quality and cost. Up to 25% travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelors/Masters/PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Experience with magnet feeding and insertion, rotor balancing systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and commission next‑gen drive unit manufacturing lines.
• Lead rotor assembly line equipment engineering from concept to production.
• Collaborate with ME and Plant teams for project coordination.
• Define supplier capabilities and material specs for manufacturability.
• Ensure compliance with standards, policies and codes.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross‑functional collaboration.
• Lead DFM feedback to ensure cost‑efficient, high‑quality assembly.
