Job description

Brown and Caldwell (BC) is seeking a Senior Project Manager passionate about delivery leadership, team mentoring, leading pursuits, and serving as a technical resource in our growing drinking water business. Join us to engage in water planning and design projects for major drinking water suppliers in the Northwest, including PFAS planning, groundwater and surface water treatment, water system planning, and climate change resiliency. Role Description:


As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee diverse water projects, collaborating with subject matter experts and design teams to deliver innovative solutions. Your leadership will be key in project planning, execution, monitoring, and quality assurance, while also supporting business development and client relationships.


Typical responsibilities include:


  • Delegating and overseeing technical staff work
  • Leading client and internal meetings
  • Preparing reports and construction documents
  • Managing project scope, schedule, budget, and quality
  • Supporting business development and client engagement
  • Mentoring staff and ensuring quality standards

Leadership expectations involve setting direction, effective communication, team motivation, trust-building, fostering diversity, and supporting team development.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • B.S. in civil or environmental engineering; other relevant degrees considered with experience
  • P.E. license or ability to obtain in WA/Oregon
  • At least 15 years of progressively responsible experience in water planning and design
  • Experience in sales efforts with municipal clients
  • Strong technical writing skills and proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
  • Ability to work effectively in teams

Preferred Qualifications:


  • 20+ years of experience in water projects
  • M.S. degree
  • Experience managing water system projects as a project manager

Salary Range: Based on location and experience, ranging from $161,000 to $265,000. Specific ranges are provided per location.
