3-Rivers Drilling & Blasting in Boise, Idaho seeks a Senior Drill Operator to run cabbed rock drills and mine-style production rigs, with day or night shifts across the state and into Utah/Nevada. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and reliable output in challenging ground conditions.

You will perform inspections, document production, and coordinate with supervisors while traveling to multiple sites, often in remote environments, and adhering to MSHA standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional drilling experience (senior-level preferred).
• Experience operating Sandvik Di650 Leopard DTH rigs or similar equipment.
• Experience operating Sandvik DP1500i Top Hammer rigs or similar equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate production rock drills while maintaining efficiency and consistent output.
• Monitor ground conditions and adjust drilling techniques to improve performance and minimize equipment wear.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance and operational upkeep.
• Follow MSHA requirements, company safety procedures, and job-site policies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and production records as required.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and project teams regarding equipment performance and job conditions.

Senior Drill Operator (Rock Drill / Heavy Equipment Operator)

3-Rivers Drilling & Blasting has more than 65 years of combined drilling and blasting experience and has proudly served the Western U.S. since 1997. We are recognized for safe, accurate, and professional drilling and blasting operations and are fully licensed, insured, and bonded for every project we complete.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Drill Operator to operate cabbed rock drills, including mine-style production drilling equipment, while safely meeting production goals in challenging ground conditions. This role supports mining and drilling operations throughout the state, Utah and Nevada and may require day or night shifts, overtime, and extended schedules depending on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate production rock drills while maintaining efficiency and consistent output
• Monitor ground conditions and adjust drilling techniques to improve performance and minimize equipment wear
• Complete daily equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance and operational upkeep
• Follow MSHA requirements, company safety procedures, and job-site policies

Qualifications

• Ability to consistently meet production goals, including footage-per-hour expectations
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Reliable transportation to and from job sites
• MSHA 5000-23 Experienced Miner certification preferred/current
• Strong commitment to safety and following established procedures
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in remote and changing conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation

Pay & Benefits

• Full-time W-2 employment
• Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
• Health insurance available with employee participation
• Paid time off available after 1 year of employment (40 hours)
• Overtime paid according to state and federal law
• Typical schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 to 12 hour shifts
• Night shifts, weekend work, and overtime may be required depending on project schedules

Work Environment

• Job site-based position with regular travel requirements
• Projects located throughout the state, Utah and Nevada
• Outdoor work environment involving mining, drilling, and rugged terrain conditions
