Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer to support the Southeast Region in Florida offices. The role focuses on stormwater and FDOT projects, data analysis, and coordinating across disciplines.

The candidate will lead design using MicroStation, Civil3D, HEC-RAS, and related tools, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with FDOT standards while delivering on schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; master's in water resources a plus.
• 5–10 years of drainage/water resources and FDOT experience.
• PE licensure in Florida required.

Responsibilities

• Collect data for Project Plans and reports.
• Design stormwater and storm drain systems; model hydrologic/hydraulic systems.
• Prepare and modify engineering reports, calculations, and construction details.
• Lead project design activities, mentor junior staff, and collaborate across disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with FDOT standards and regulations.
