A Senior Drafting Technician performs complex drafting and computation work, creating rough and finished drawings by hand or CAD. Incumbents handle difficult engineering drafting tasks using various techniques, tools, and reference manuals. They work independently, selecting information from standard references and resolving previously encountered problems. They utilize drafting tools and follow departmental procedures. At the senior level, supervision is provided by a professional engineer or architect, and incumbents may supervise other technicians.
PROMOTIONAL: Continuous and permanent status as a Drafting Technician in a city department for one year.
