Job summary

Travis® Body & Trailer, Inc. is seeking a Senior Drafter in NW Houston, on-site, to create and maintain detailed CAD drawings and BOMs for trailer and truck body products. The role emphasizes DriveWorks design automation and close collaboration with production, purchasing, and quality teams.

The ideal candidate will manage engineering changes, support lifecycle activities from concept to production, and ensure designs meet manufacturability and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Technical Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field required.
• 15+ years of progressive drafting and design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 10+ years AutoCAD/SolidWorks drafting experience supporting manufacturing operations.
• Minimum of 5+ years DriveWorks experience in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed drawings, layouts, and specifications for new and existing products.
• Develop accurate BOMs in accordance with engineering and manufacturing standards.
• Design custom trailer and body configurations using CAD systems based on customer requirements.
• Utilize DriveWorks automation to configure, generate, and manage designs, drawings, and BOMs.
• Support engineering changes and lifecycle from concept through production and post-release.
