Job summary

AIS Infrastructure Group in the United States is seeking a Senior DOT Estimator to lead cost estimates for large highway, bridge, and utilities projects. You will drive bid strategy, perform quantity takeoffs, and coordinate with operations, project management, and executive leadership.

Mentor junior estimators, maintain estimating databases, and stay current on market trends while ensuring safety standards and financial objectives are met.

Qualifications

• Significant experience with DOT projects involving highways and bridges is required.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience leading estimates on large, complex projects.
• Advanced knowledge of heavy civil construction methods, means, and sequencing.
• Experience with cost databases and benchmarking tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of cost estimates for large-scale civil projects (highways/bridges/utilities).
• Analyze plans, specifications, geotechnical data, and contracts to understand scope, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop bid strategies, pricing approaches, and risk positioning.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Lead subcontractor and supplier outreach, bid leveling, and scope alignment.
• Mentor junior estimators and support staff.
• Present estimates to executive leadership for bid approval.
