Job summary

Virginia Tech is seeking an Associate Director of Donor Relations to manage strategic stewardship for high-end donors. You will lead acknowledgments, communications and donor recognition, while supervising the Donor Stewardship Coordinators and coordinating with the Office of Donor Relations.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, policy interpretation, and cross-unit collaboration to advance Virginia Tech’s donor experience and fundraising goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in donor relations, nonprofits, fundraising or related field.
• Strong project management and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent customer service, organization and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and donor data reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead stewardship programs for major donors and giving societies.
• Oversee day-to-day donor relations operations and team oversight.
• Develop and execute donor communication strategies and acknowledgments.
• Collaborate with Advancement and university partners to meet goals.
• Ensure policies, procedures and deadlines support best-in-class stewardship.
