Job summary

ZelTech Training Solutions, LLC in Dahlgren, VA, is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and document complex DoD software systems. You will contribute across the full software lifecycle and produce high-quality technical documentation for DoD programs.

The role requires extensive software engineering experience and the ability to work with cybersecurity, real-time programming, or ML-enabled solutions. U.S. citizenship and an active secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active Secret clearance required.
• Ten years of software engineering experience, or a bachelor's degree plus six years.
• Experience in at least two areas: operating systems, communications software, databases, compilers, or utilities.
• Experience defining requirements, design, coding, debugging, and documentation.
• Experience with SDPs, ECPs, ICRs, IDS, and software test plans.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance software applications including OS, communications software, databases, compilers, and utilities.
• Define, manage, and document software requirements, architecture, design, and code.
• Conduct benchmark testing, debugging, and performance analysis across components.
• Prepare and maintain SDPs, ECPs, ICRs, IDS, and software test plans/reports.
• Analyze software performance in naval environments and scenarios.
• Support technical positions and write detailed technical reports.
• Participate in software testing at unit, system, and system-of-systems levels.
• Contribute to cybersecurity, real-time programming, UML/SysML modeling, or data-driven work.
