Job summary

ZelTech seeks an Electronics Technician to provide on-site, electronic technician, research, development and test support at CCSFS. You will perform upkeep, maintenance and repairs of sensors and related equipment, working closely with project teams to ensure readiness and mission success.

You will conduct routine maintenance, troubleshoot prototype systems, and coordinate field test activities while adhering to safety and DoD guidelines, with opportunities to advance technical skills and

Qualifications

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a secret security clearance.
  • Must have a high school diploma and 4 - 10 years' related experience.
  • Ability to manage time and resources.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to present technical information to non-technical end users.
  • Judgment and multi-tasking for job duties.
  • May provide support on special projects as needed.
  • Eagle PCB design software and PCBs fabricated at a fab house or fabricated themselves.
  • Connecting and configuring marine components.
  • NMEA-2000 and network configuration.
  • Waterproofing/weatherproofing/ruggedizing electrical components.
  • Familiar with circuit analysis.
  • Familiar with microcontrollers and microcomputers.
  • Familiar with RF equipment.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Works well independently or as part of a group.
  • Successful background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise to support fabrication, modification, bench test, calibration and troubleshooting of prototype systems.
  • Plans and coordinates remote sensor test maintenance and preparedness for operations involving multiple functions such as readiness, utilization, safety, and interagency coordination.
  • Assist with ad hoc test support projects, including field support and movement and liaisons with stakeholders in support of project assignments.
  • Perform hands on support to all aspects of Cape test operations as assigned.
  • Comply with and facilitates industry hygiene and safety standards and requirements in the workplace.
  • Identifies equipment and electronics deficiencies.
  • Support both execution and management of technical projects.
  • Design, develop and integrate electrical components, as required, into developmental systems to assist in payload to platform integration activities.
  • Provide tracking of program activities and status reporting to synchronize and enhance missions.
  • Perform specialized work requiring interpretation and application of concepts, theories, and ability to make sound judgments.
  • Provide technical advice to government project managers and engineers.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Associates Degree and 2 - 5 years' directly related experience.
  • Commercial/industrial electrical power skills to repair/modify/maintain systems and equipment.
  • Previous experience with high voltage (power lineman).
  • Knowledge of standard DoD acquisition regulations, practices and procedures.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and tracking performance metrics.
  • Experience in Risk Management processes.
  • Good writing skills, as there may be a requirement to write reports.
  • First Aid Certification.
  • Boat owner or operator.
