Merrick & Company in Greenwood Village, CO seeks an experienced Senior Structural Facility Engineer to design DoD and NASA facilities as part of our High Performance Facilities team. You will lead and mentor engineers, interface with clients, and deliver detailed calculations, drawings, and reports for complex projects in a collaborative environment.

This role requires at least 12 years of government facility design experience, licensure as a Professional Engineer, and proficiency with

Qualifications

• Minimum twelve (12) years of commercial or governmental facility design experience.
• Experience with building codes; Unified Facilities Criteria is a plus.
• Experience managing other structures engineers and designers.
• Experience interfacing with client contacts.
• Professional Engineer license required; no exceptions.
• U.S. Citizenship required for client projects.
• ABET-accredited BS in Civil/Structural Engineering; MS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate and solve complex problems with limited guidance.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure accuracy, schedule, and budget.
• Generate detailed engineering products: reports, calculations, docs, and drawings.
• Lead a design team, directing junior engineers and delegating tasks.
• Establish design criteria and meet with clients.
• Prepare fee proposals for design work.
• Perform inspections and data collection at existing facilities and active projects.
