Job summary

Aether Aerospace is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer IV to automate infrastructure provisioning and upgrades using Ansible and bb-bootstrap. You will manage Kubernetes clusters across secure enclaves and support backend infrastructure for Jira, Confluence, KubeCost, and GitLab.

The role requires an Active TS/SCI clearance, a Bachelor’s in IT or similar with 8+ years of experience, and DoD-context cloud expertise. Remote-first with preferred locations in Boston or Dayton.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or similar with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• CompTIA Cloud+ or Security+; GICSP, SSCP, or GSEC.
• Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect; Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar.

Responsibilities

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and upgrades using Ansible and bb-bootstrap.
• Manage and maintain Kubernetes clusters across enclaves (NIPR-Il5/SIPR/JWICS).
• Perform bi-weekly BigBang upgrades and monthly CLI tool updates.
• Support backend infrastructure for tools like Jira, Confluence, KubeCost, and GitLab.
• Troubleshoot cluster and deployment issues alongside other teams.
• Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems.
