Job summary

Silverthorne Advisory Group is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain data infrastructure supporting Advana and related systems. You will work with SQL, ETL, Databricks, Python, and big data tools to enable data integration, quality, analysis, and reporting.

The role targets candidates with 3–10 years’ experience, a DoD-focused background, and the ability to collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• Secret security clearance or higher required; sponsorship may be available.
• Strong SQL skills with ability to write, troubleshoot, and modify complex queries.
• Hands-on experience with ETL processes, data integration, and data transformation.
• Programming experience with Python and related technologies including Spark/Scala/JSON.
• Experience with large datasets and big data processing technologies.
• Understanding of data modeling, database design, data visualization, and data governance principles.
• Experience developing or maintaining BI applications, reports, and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using ETL processes, Databricks, Python, Spark, Scala, SQL and related technologies.
• Build and optimize data pipelines for scalable, reliable, high-performance data processing.
• Perform data cleansing, integration, transformation, and quality assurance to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Process and analyze large datasets using big data technologies within federal/defense environments.
• Write, troubleshoot, and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures across datasets.
• Develop and maintain data models, reports, dashboards, and applications to support BI and decision-making.
• Apply data governance policies to ensure compliance with requirements and standards.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and cross-functional teams to develop data solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex data issues and recommend improvements to workflows and infrastructure.
• Maintain technical documentation for applications and data pipelines.
