Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer at Hanscom AFB in Bedford, Massachusetts, to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. This full-time position involves managing and executing cybersecurity strategies and ensuring compliance with DoD policies.

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree and have significant experience in the DoD. Knowledge of Agile methodologies and strong communication skills are essential. This role also demands maintaining a Secret level clearance.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, 10 of which must be in the DoD.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of security documentation including System Security Management Plans and Security Risk Analyses.
• Support RMF Authorization and Accreditation activities, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies.
• Manage system user accounts, ports/protocols, and PKI requirements.
• Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments; recommend security policies and disaster recovery procedures.

Skills

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Secret level clearance

Understanding of cybersecurity in DoD cloud infrastructure

Knowledge of Agile methodologies including CI/CD, DevSecOps, and DevOps

Experience with systems analysis and eMASS

Strong ability to communicate technical topics effectively

STIG compliance

Risk Management Framework (RMF) implementation and documentation

DoD cybersecurity policies and compliance

System Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) processes

DoD cloud infrastructure security

Education

Bachelor's degree in a professional engineering discipline
