Job summary

Synertex LLC in Hawaii seeks an experienced Budget Analyst to support HQ PACAF with budget formulation, execution, forecasting, and financial management for PACAF, Joint Staff, and Combatant Command exercises across USINDOPACOM.

The analyst will manage exercise funding, develop financial forecasts, monitor budgets, identify shortfalls, prepare unfunded requirements, and provide financial analyses and senior-leader briefings. Travel up to 25% and an active Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance is required.
• Bachelor's degree OR 24 semester hours in accounting/finance with two years related experience.
• 5+ years of DoD experience in analysis, budgeting, or financial management.
• Experience building/maintaining Budget or Man-Day Trackers.
• Experience managing expenses against budgets/BOGEYs.
• Experience identifying funding shortfalls and UFRs.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong financial analysis and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update Budget and Man-Day Trackers for exercises.
• Perform budget formulation and execution for PACAF, Joint Staff, and Combatant Command exercises.
• Develop CY+3 forecasts and analyze spending trends.
• Monitor expenses against budgets and identify shortfalls.
• Prepare UFRs and funding actions.
• Monitor obligations, expenditures, and open documents to ensure accurate execution.
• Conduct financial analysis, variance reporting, and burn-rate tracking.
• Prepare funding documents (MIPRs, authorizations) and monitor through completion.
• Review and manage exercise Open Document Listings (ODLs).
• Prepare financial briefings and recommendations for senior leadership.
• Support financial planning during exercise conferences and reviews.
• Provide budget guidance to resource advisors and leadership.
• Coordinate with PACAF, DoD, Joint/Service orgs, and other stakeholders.
• Travel up to 25% as required.
