Description

Oversee the operation of customer account(s), manage daily dock activities and workflow ensuring safety, quality and production goals are met in an efficient and effective manner and to serve as a trusted leader with the ability to encourage, motivate, and promote the well-being of office and dock associates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

1. Comply with all safety standards and requirements to assure a safe and hazard-free workplace.
2. Directly supervise, coach and mentor supervisors and team lead.
3. Performs required administrative tasks; prepares required reports and correspondence.
4. Establishes and maintains department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.
5. Leads crew by example by loading trucks and/or performing other duties as necessary.
6. Maintain dock facilities in an organized manner.
7. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures and safety standards.
8. Develop, retain, and lead team members to ensure efficient operations in support of company’s mission and goals.
9. Monitor, evaluate, and provide recommendations to SECO Management team to maintain efficient dock processes to improve dock operations performance.
10. Conduct pre-shift meetings and provide education to employees, as necessary.
11. Develop cost-saving methods for increased terminal productivity.
12. Contribute to short- and long-term organizational planning and strategy.
13. Project and schedule dock employees based on forecasted business levels.
14. Coach and instruct employees to increase individual and team performance.
15. Recognize, reward, and reinforce good performance.
16. Promote team building efforts to increase team morale.
17. Oversee the training and development program of all dock employees.
18. Assist in the hiring and performance evaluations of dock employees.
19. Ensure labor hours are well balanced amongst team members while managing fatigue factors.
20. Flexibility with schedule to get customer freight processed in a timely manner.
21. Oversee supervisors to ensure opening and closing procedures are being followed according to policies and procedures.
22. Coordinate all activities of dock workers, including processing floor, mix and pallet freight.

Education

• High school Diploma or GED.

Working Conditions

1. Continually required to stand.
2. Continually required to walk.
3. Frequently required to lift/push/carry more than 50 pounds.
4. Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather).
5. Exposure to outside weather conditions.
6. Continually loud noise.
7. Travel to two additional locations, Garland TX and Ellenwood GA (located outside of Atlanta GA), will be required for a brief period, with overnight stays as necessary.
8. Shift:Sunday - Thursday; 6:30am - 4:30pm or until

Must be able to execute all the above functions and meet all the above demands safely, posing no threat to themselves or those around them while doing so, and must willingly comply with applicable safety regulations in the completion of all work.
