Job summary

The Division Supervisor II at the State of Maine Judicial Branch is based in Cumberland County Courthouse, Portland, and oversees criminal, civil, and family divisions. The role merges two staffs, ensures efficient docketing, and maintains high service levels within a busy court environment.

Required are three years in case processing and supervisory roles, plus an associate’s degree or Clerk’s Certification. Strong communication and knowledge of MEJIS are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in case processing and three years in supervisory/managerial roles.
• Associate’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, or related field, or Clerk’s Certification.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Knowledge of court procedures and MEJIS system.

Responsibilities

• Plan, analyze, and organize division work.
• Hire, train, and evaluate staff with Clerk of Court guidance.
• Supervise and discipline employees and manage workloads.
• Ensure customer service standards and professional interactions.
