Under the direction of the Senior Assistant Director the Senior Division Manager will lead and manage the employees and activities within the Distribution System Maintenance and Operations Section of the Drinking Water Operations Branch. More specifically, the Senior Division Manager will oversee Water Service Request Investigations; Leak Detection Support; Valve Operations Support; repairs of mains, service lines, fire hydrants and valves, Preventative Maintenance Programs, and other projects and programs as required. The Senior Division Manager will contribute directly to the level of service provided to customers by analyzing metrics and developing strategies for process improvement. This position requires excellent technical, communication and coordination skills, and the ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering or a field related to activities of the division.
Eight (8) years of progressive professional experience closely related to the activities of the division are required, with at least three (3) of the years in a supervisory capacity.
A Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a field closely related to the activities of the division may be substituted for two (2) years of non-supervisory experience. Directly related professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
