Job summary

Google Cloud's File and Block Storage team is seeking engineers to design, implement, and optimize storage features for GDCH and related environments. You will work on scalable, high-performance systems across data centers, edge, and cloud deployments.

Expected to contribute to architecture, testing, and operations, helping deliver secure, robust storage services with emphasis on performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate core file and block storage features and management within the GDCH ecosystem.
• Define, measure, and optimize storage performance to meet IOPS, throughput, and latency requirements.
• Build and enhance observability, monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation capabilities for high availability.
• Address and resolve complex issues through root-cause/remediation processes including testing gaps.
