Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong systems programming skills in Rust, C, C++, or Go.
• Solid understanding of networking: TCP/UDP, TLS, MTU, multicast.
• Experience with distributed systems, RPC frameworks, and consensus.
• Familiarity with async programming models and protobuf/gRPC.
• Ability to analyze packet captures with tcpdump or Wireshark.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new features for the Distributed Service Bus, including gossip protocols and link-state routing.
• Extend the gRPC proxy layer to enable services to communicate over the DSB mesh.
• Debug distributed networking issues across radios, UDP/TCP, and mesh routing.
• Collaborate with product teams to deploy DSB on new hardware and migrations from legacy buses.
• Optimize protocol performance for bandwidth-constrained links and QoS scheduling.
• Write RFCs and design docs for new protocol features and APIs.
• Build deterministic simulation harnesses for reproducible testing.
• Improve observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and dsbtool CLI.
• Contribute to security with packet signing, FIPS compliance, and end-to-end encryption.
