Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Senior Manager, Dispatch Test Engineering to lead a US-based team of software test and validation engineers, partnering with software development and cross-functional teams to improve product quality and delivery confidence.

You will establish a unified test strategy, automate where possible, and drive metrics-driven decisions across the Dispatch Engineering portfolio, ensuring safe and reliable customer deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent railroad signal industry experience
• Minimum of 7 years in software testing, test strategy, QA, or validation
• Minimum of 5 years as a software lead, test lead, validation lead, or people manager
• Experience leading engineering teams, coaching, resource planning, performance management
• Strong understanding of software test methodologies, automation, regression, defects, release readiness, quality metrics

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the US-based Dispatch Engineering test and validation team through planning and coaching
• Establish and mature the Dispatch Engineering test center of excellence with common frameworks and metrics
• Define and execute verification/validation strategies for dispatch and back-office products
• Advance test automation and integrate it into delivery workflows
• Partner with development, systems engineering, product, and delivery teams to align validation plans with scope and schedules
• Support proposal development by defining validation scope and effort estimates
• Oversee system integration testing, regression testing, performance validation and deployment support
• Use quality metrics to communicate status and drive improvements
• Represent Dispatch Engineering testing in leadership reviews and governance forums
• Promote accountability, continuous improvement, and customer-focused quality
