Gelber Group in Chicago is seeking an Experienced Discretionary Macro Markets Trader to join our fast-paced trading desk. You will manage your own trading book focused on liquid macro futures, assess risk, and drive trading decisions alongside a team of seasoned traders.

The role requires a proven profitability record, a senior mindset, and strong communication. You will analyze market trends, test strategies, and respond quickly to macro developments while working in our River North office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of verified, risk-adjusted profitability in trading.
• Proprietary trading or hedge fund PM experience strongly preferred.
• Defined discretionary macro edge including outcome distribution analysis or narrative interpretation.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with competitive nature.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own trading book focusing on liquid macro futures.
• Manage risk of a portfolio of active strategies and drive trading decisions.
• Analyze market trends, order flow, and technical patterns to identify opportunities.
• Develop, test, and refine trading strategies using historical data and real-time conditions.
• Monitor market conditions, news, and macroeconomic events.
• Communicate notable risk changes to leadership.
